3D Modeling and CAD CAM Design

Putting customers’ ideas into practice through the study and development of the project in 3D modeling means guaranteeing adequate industrialisation of the products. 3D CAD mathematics can be created by our internal structure or directly supplied by the customer for the creation of the products.

Ferrotto Design elaborates tool paths using the TEBIS Software, leader in the sector for process reliability
and technological innovation. The CAM design makes it possible to create what has been processed in a 3D
model through machining parameters by choosing the tools, the machining speeds, the number of
revolutions of the tool, depending on the material to be processed.

Milling department

The products are manufactured using modern 5-axis and 6-axis CNC machining centres which provide an infinite number of machining solutions.

The milling department comprises a total of 6 numerically
controlled milling centres, divided into metalworking and resin and composite machining centres. The high
level of expertise of our technicians means that we can work efficiently with the highest levels of efficiency
and quality. Our machining centres manage 24-hour operation, which results in higher productivity and
considerable cost reduction.

Tests and Certifications

Ferrotto Design avails itself of systems capable of measuring, approving and certifying the products manufactured, responding to the technical and functional specifications required.

For dimensional surveys, the measuring machines are interfaced with the technical department and through appropriate software the actual geometry of the part is compared with its theoretical geometry of the corresponding 3D model.

Laser scanning and Reverse Engineering

Laser scanning converts the physical dimensions of the object into a digital 3D model.

Laser scanning makes it possible to accurately acquire the shape of the object in a point cloud which will then be transformed into a polygonal mesh “STL Files” by means of a triangulation process. Ferrotto Design can manage the remaking of the parts by directly milling the STL file or by means of Reverse Engineering, making it possible to recreate the CAD model necessary to manage more complex machining operations.

Laser Marking

The use of laser marking makes it possible to mark products with their characteristics or to affix traceability codes permanently and without contact.

Serial numbers, codes and logos can be engraved on any type of
component or alloy, with a high-resolution quality finish. Laser marking using a non-contact procedure
ensures resistance to acids, chemicals and corrosion without damaging the metal surface.

Rapid Prototyping 

3D printer that enhances the quality of the pieces thanks to a higher printing resolution, in order to obtain an excellent surface finish and a better accuracy of details.

The jet printing technology allows the creation of colour models including the possibility of applying textures. The construction volume (254 x 356 x 203
mm), the speed and low cost of materials make it possible to optimise the production of three-dimensional prototypes.

La progettazione CAM consente di realizzare quello che è stato elaborato in modello 3D attraverso
parametri di lavorazione scegliendo gli utensili, le velocità di lavorazione, il numero di giri
dell’utensile stesso, in funzione del materiale che deve essere lavorato.
